Abundance is a huge buzz-word in the self-help world.
I don’t know how many times I’ve read that we should “create abundance” and “live abundantly,” but how does one go about doing that?
I used to think that abundance was having more money. “Heck yeah! I want more abundance!” is what I thought every time I read the word. I had no clue what it was to really “feel abundant.”
The opposite of abundance might be scarcity or deprivation. I knew all about those feelings.
It’s hard not to live in a fog of scarcity or deprivation when you never seem to have enough time, energy, or money. When all of society tells you that you should weigh less, spend less, and eat less…sugar, fat, meat, gluten (fill in almost any food here)… can you ever feel abundant?
How can you feel abundant when “the world” seems to tell you that you’re never enough the way you are right now?
It wasn’t until I had spent quite a few months painting that I finally felt what abundance really was, at least for me.
Abundance was feeling like my cup was half full instead of half empty, when I didn’t feel like I was yearning or wanting for anything.
I felt abundant when I was painting.
Before I started painting again, it was just a “someday far off dream.” Someday, when everything was aligned and perfect I would start doing what I really wanted to do. I would start living my dream. By Adding painting now, I was miraculously living my dream now! And isn’t that the most abundant life we can live?
